Growing Greenovation!

NEW environmental STEM training for teachers/youth leaders

Good News! Growing Green Hearts has a new training available. So please pass this along to your local school, scout troop, youth group, or community club! The training is called: Growing Greenovation: Youth Leading with Environmental STEM and this is how it came to be…

Stories are powerful. Special thanks to Greta Thunberg (age 15, Sweden), Autumn Peltier (age 13, Wikwemikong First Nation), Mari Copeny (age 11, Flint Michigan) for their inspiring stories and green leadership.  When we asked, “What can we learn from these youth leaders?,” we found even more questions than answers! We then asked: What tools do kids need to lead green? How can action assist with climate grief? What processes empower youth when the success of a project is unknown? What other stories connect us globally and locally? Research and 15+ years of teaching experiences led to some answers that are explored in the new training called Growing Greenovation: Youth Leading with Environmental STEM!

Hooray! In just a 2 hour training, leaders of youth will tackle those questions above and more. Below is a description of the training Growing Greenovation: Youth Leading with Environmental STEM:

Use this greenovation workshop to move your school, club, and community groups from knowledge to earth care action.  We’ll use the 5 R’s….Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Rejoice!…to examine local and global success stories. Learn more of the science behind our daily uses of stuff, energy, and water at your school and playground. Empower youth with books, nature play and the environmental STEM process. Gain tools and strategies to equip your young leaders for green innovation and a future standing ovation!
