Science literacy goes beyond just understanding a science related article in the paper or online.  Science literacy is about finding reliable information, asking the right questions, and engaging in conversation about solutions. It’s a common misconception that science is a collection of knowledge about energy or matter.  In reality it the basics that we learn about water, land, air, and living things that send us asking more questions and exploring more about the topic.  Science is active and often collaborative.  Science is problem-finding and problem-solving.

Rachel Pike does a great job explaining the science review process and how climate change headlines come to be.  If you have ever wondered, “How do scientists put all of the pieces of the puzzle together?” or “Don’t they just need more evidence about earth’s climate?” then this is definitely worth your time.  Four minutes!
