Springbrook Nature Center and Growing Green Hearts have teamed up for 2 teacher trainings taught by Heidi Ferris of Growing Green Hearts, LLC. Springbrook’s new state of the art facility was completed in 2016 and is now welcoming visitors and field trips. Check out the nature center’s exhibits, stay for the training, learn about the new natural playground coming in 2017! Experience playful, standards-based activities and science education basics for Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (eSTEM). All offerings are Parent Aware/Minnesota Center for Professional Development approved trainings.

Play while problem solving! Grow an exciting, science program that is based on student interests, play, creativity, and process. Meet and greet science basics while clarifying how science standards and environmental Science Technology Engineering and Math (eSTEM) strategies connect with kids and existing curriculum in your classroom, scout troop, or child care center. This is a MCPD/Parent Aware approved training geared towards educators of early learners and elementary students.
Building eSTEAM with STEM™
Monday, May 1st, 5:00-7:00 pm
Ready to take STEM even further? STEM encourages questions, empowers the learner, and engages kids in problem-solving. ESTEAM (environment, science, technology, engineering, art, and math) builds on the STEM philosophy while strengthening learning communities and systems thinking. Participants will do engineering design challenges; discuss “letting kids lead”; reflect on student empowerment, self-esteem, and sustainability. This is a MCPD/Parent Aware approved training geared towards educators of early learners and elementary students.
